Error 0x800CCC90

We have a user whos Outlook XP occasionally pops up error during
Send/Receive. It says something about and error 0x800CCC90 , internal
error for POP3 email server, contact administrator or ISP.

I tried looking up support.microsoft.com. Although there are a few
articles that mentioned error 0x800CCC90, none of the information
seems to describe our situation.

Anybody knows how to address this error? We use Exchange 2000 as our
email server.

Have you tried creating a new mail profile for this user?

Lenny,
I had this error and traced it down to McAfee's Parental Control
product. It has a privacy protection feature and when checked
"Parental Control considers the information sent in the e-mail as
protected information and thus stops it from being send". It is okay
to uncheck the option.

Your Security package may have a similar privacy protection feature.
Try turning it off and/or removing your user's name and e-mail account
from the list of protected assets.

Hope this helped,
Mike

PS. This append (or a close approximation there of) was cross posted
