Downloading emails problem

Recently, Outlook developed a problem. Emails download to a point then an
error message appears and TalkTalk say theis a problem with Microsoft but the
diagnostic tool says not! Copied the eroor message below. Can anyone advise
me because I'm stumped!!

Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC90) : 'Your incoming (POP3) e-mail server
has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message,
contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The
server responded:
