Error 0x800ccc0e Incoming Port 110

I have recently (May 05) started recieving this error code when attempting to
retrieve my POP3 mail (Outlook 2000). Have tried removing/disable firewalls
and nothing works. I can send through the SMTP but not able to recieve. My
ISP will not assist as it is a third party e-mail. My e-mail domain provider
states it is not an error on their end. Any suggestions?

Double-check that the port is not blocked, either by your firewall/AV/ISP.
If you have antivirus actively set to scan incoming/outgoing email, disable
the integration with Outlook or even temporarily stop the service to see if
that improves anything.

When you have antivirus scanning incoming/outgoing email, it pulls the email
from your provider and scans it before sending it to you. Same with Outgoing,
it pulls the email from your PC, scans it, then sends it to your ISP's
server. Your security won't be compromised, your antivirus real time scanner
will catch anything it's updated for.
