I would like to install XP in a HP XL759 Pavilion, but the
system says there is not enough room on the hard drive.
However, it is a 40 gig hard drive with 1.88 gb used, but
shows only 110 mb free.

Your hard drive has not been partitioned correctly. If
you look at the total size it will probably tell you it
is only 2gig. You need to boot up on a floppy Windows
boot disk and fdisk it. Unfortunatly you will loose all
your information doing it this way. Another program you
can try is Partition Magic. I use Partition Magic 8 Pro
and am able to resize my hard drive without loosing any
information. I'm sure you will get some more replys to
your question. I hope I have been able to help.
