erroneous recurring appointments in Outlook calendar

After I synch my PDA and laptop, single calendar appointments sometimes
become recurring appointments. Any ideas for what is causing this and how to
solve it? I'm using Office 2007 and the most recent version of Windows
Mobile (as of May 2008).
