Erroneous Data Deletion

Are they in the recycle bin? Type of files? (May not be saved by system
restore).

DON'T use that computer; you may overwrite the "deleted" files.
At the present time, your files are still there.

Pull out the Hard drive and slave it in another computer.
Install Data recovery software in the other computer, then scan the Drive
you have slaved.

It is worth trying try the ordinary undelete process. Use MY COMPUTER
to go to C:\Recycled, see if you can spot the names of deleted files, select
and right click for menu options, which include UNDELETE.

Sorry for wasting everyone's time. I found that using normal tools, the
restore feature, I could restore my computer to the previous day's settings
and all the"missing files" were recovered. Thanks for the rapid responses
anyway. Issue closed.

Always look in the recycle bin , they are usually there .
