Erratic Mouse Movements

I recently upgraded my operating system from Windows ME
to XP Home. I am pleased with the upgrade except for the
fact that my mouse is extremely sensitive and erratic. It
jumps all over the place while I am typing a sentence. I
mouse click to close one page and the mose closes other
pages almost on it's own. I have slowed the speed of my
mouse in Properties but that didn't help. I am about to
throw this PC out the window. Please help!

Hi, have you checked out the Troubleshoot facility in the
mouse Properties / Hardware. If you haven't it's worth a
look.

Try downloading the latest XP drivers from the manufacturer's website.

Virus scan, windowsupdate.com, virus scan again, what
mouse do you have.. if its your average PS2 Mouse I have
no clue.
