I would try reinstalling the programs over themselves, and then uninstall.
Also try uninstalling in Safe Mode.

There are programs (some free) available that claim to streamline
uninstalling. Have a look, for instance, at Easy Uninstall.

There's a catch to the program Easy Uninstaller mentioned below- if you dl
the free version, it will go ahead and scan for the files and state that they
can be removed, but when you click to uninstall, it prompts you to enter the
serial key- which you get by purchasing a copy. I was disapointed....it
sounded like this might have helped for a particularly stubborn program that
I CANNOT delete thru my control panel.

Did you try using Revo Uninstaller? It's free.

Typical bait & switch MO, plus probably dangerous to boot. Such things
should not be necessary for XP.

It is in the wording and is not a catch if you read it correctly..

A search on the Internet reveals a few links to Easy Uninstaller..

This one takes you to CNET where you can download for 'FREE' Easy
Uninstaller VERSION 6.1 which is a try before you buy version..

http://www.download.com/Easy-Uninstaller/3000-2086_4-10285911.html

This one takes you to Tucows where you can download for FREE Easy
Uninstaller VERSION 1.5 which is four years old, and because of this is
offered as FREEWARE..

http://www.tucows.com/preview/362527

The only catch is that the absolutely free version is as old as hell..
