event viewer

I am new to computers. I bought one. someone else set it up. I have figured
out that my comp has been compramised. I payed 400 dollars to have my
computer wiped clean. But as soon as I turned it on and went to event viewer
it showed things that were odd.
first of all I believe that the person who set it up has set settings so she
has remote access to my comp. even after wiping it clean, when I go to event
viewer right when I turn it on, one of the things that is documented is, "the
remote access manager service has been sent a start up bla bla . then I see
the event viewer has been turned off . then I see the event viewer has been
turned on. Then I see that the remote access manager service has entered the
running state. It seems as though my comp is a remote comp to her server.
Again, I am not sure of the comp lingo. Even though this is my computer, and
I am the computer admin, there seems to be something in my comp that was not
erased by the system cleanup. eight months ago, when she set my comp up, it
was connected to a wireless lynxsis router that was in her name from the co.
that she worked for. I dont know if this matters. Either way, from the little
exp. that I have, it seems that she has remote access to my comp. even now
when I have got rid of the wireless remote, the event viewer says that some
things are happening. Can someone please help with the definitions of what my
event viewer is saying appon start up.
thanks

The Reports in Event Viewer can be very difficult to interpret. Not that all
are!

Some links which may help:

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308427&sd=tech

Part of the Description of the error will include a link, which you should
double click for further information. You can copy using copy and paste.
Often the link will, however, say there is no further information.
http://go.microsoft.com/fw.link/events.asp
(Please note the hyperlink above is for illustration purposes only)

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double click
on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a button
resembling two pages. Double click the button and close Event Viewer. Now
start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of the message. This
will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report complete with links
into the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from Event
Viewer.

This link is the best information base there is:
http://www.eventid.net/search.asp

If you are concerned about a particular report post a copy here. Otherwise
Google often provides useful information.

Hope this helps.
