erasing cd's

i have a cd burner but no option to erase teh cd when i
choose the cd task option under my computer. Why is that
not an option? under the help menu my system should be
able to erase it. Feed back is much appreciated.

Are the disks CD-R or CD-RW?

CD-R discs cannot be erased. They are permanent after burning. CD-RW discs
can be erased and reused, and when the appropriate software is used, CD-RW
discs can be used just like another HDD.
