Erasing and formatting CDs

Until recently it has been a simple matter to erase CD-RWs using the CD
Writing Tasks box via My Computer. All of a sudden this option has
disappeared and for the first time ever I am being prompted to format disks
if I want to copy files to them via the CD burner. Why would this be the
case? It has been possible to both erase disks and copy to disks without
formatting when using Sonic Record Now. But what has happened to the
functions previously available under My Computer?? Grateful for any
suggestions.

Hi,

When you install 3rd party burning software, the native imapi burning
program is disabled to prevent conflicts. You should use the formatting and
writing tools within the software rather than the Windows' tools.
