erase old sites i have visited

How do I erase old sites i have visited so when someone else types in the
first letter or two after www. it won't show the site I went to. I tried to
erase the history but it kept coming up under the address bar.

Try this

start>run and type

inetcpl.cpl

Then click "Clear History"
