Equation

I am trying to find some helpful examples on how to use the Equation feature.
Is it to be used for performing math or is it merely for writing and
displaying an equation? Is there a helpful site you could refer me to for
some actual examples? Thx very much.

The equation feature is for displaying mathematical expressions, not for
calculations. How to use it depends on your version of Word; Word 2007 has a
new equation editor, which also includes some predefined formulas.
