Equation Editor

Hi all,

I've been having issues with equation editor and inserting tables. I've had
the issue where if I try to edit an equation, I get:

Word cannot open the document; user does not have access privledges

I've read where you can disable the Norton Protection for Office, but I
still get this error. Please help! Thanks! (I'm writing math tests, which
is why this is important)

I'm impressed that you've done your homework by first searching the
newsgroups for an answer! You're in the minority, from all
appearances.

Unfortunately the only thing I'm aware of that causes that error is
the Office protection in Norton products. We have an article about

You might try the 30-day evaluation of MathType to see if you still
get the error. MathType will still function beyond the 30 day
evaluation period as "MathType Lite", which will have features similar
to Equation Editor.
