Epson Stylus Photo 820 ink alternatives?

Hello,
I've the Epson mentioned above. Can anyone tell me if any of the other
Epson ink carts can be used in this printer other then the T026 and T027
Carts? Also, if not interchangable (I want to buy them at Costco and I
can not see any 820 carts there), can these be refilled and is that a
worthwhile solution.

Thanks,

John

For stock Epson, try Atlex

For refilling: MIS (inksupply), Mediastreet, Amazon Inks (Pantone), Lyson,
and many more.

I use MIS in my 1280---all good so far

I have:

Two T026 Black Genuine Epson

and

Three T027 Color Genuine Epson

All five are brand new and un-opened.

However, the date code is July 2003.

I cannot honestly say whether being 6 months past the date code makes any
real difference, but if you live in the US and will pay actual shipping
costs, I'll sell them to you for $8 each. They were all over $20 each I
belive.

Please research to see if the date code is important though. If it is, you
should pass...

I've been using generic cartridges (non-OEM) in my Epson Stylus Photo 820
for some time, and other than the fact that they seem to need cleaning
(i.e., de-clogging) fairly often, they produce terrific photos. I don't use
the printer all that often (I have a laser that I use for 95% of my
printing), so maybe that has something to do with the clogging.

Hi J-Man,
Could you please tell me the name of your generic cartridges, and where
you get them?
Thanks,
John

I've used various different brands-- mostly just no-name stuff made in
China. One place I've ordered from that seems to have good prices and
service is www.gotink4u.com. You can also find a lot of people selling
generics on eBay. Just put your printer name and model number into the
search box and you'll find them. Good luck.

J-Man,
Thanks for all the help. I looked at the site you mention and it
certainly is the best I've seen in terms of cost. I'll have to see what
they charge for shipping to Canada. Thanks again,

john

They're currently running a 10% off sale (through 1/4); just enter SANTA in
the coupon field and click on "redeem coupon." Good luck.
