EPSON R300 forgets how to print!

I've got an Epson Stylus Photo R300 which has worked fine for about a
year. Recently it has began to either start printing a document and
then just stop half way through or just not print the document at all.
Ocassionally, it will also go on a mind bender and start spewing out
pages and pages of random characters!

I've reinstalled the software, installed the latest drivers and all
that stuff but it still seems to have the same problem. I was
wondering if it is maybe a fault with the Windows print spooler service
that stores and sends the document to the printer?

Any help would be much appreciated because i'm sure that i can't be the
only person that has had this problem...

You didn't mention which OS you are using, but chances are your spool
area is too small, or highly fragmented, or being eaten up by virtual
memory, or a scratch disk on the same physical or virtual drive.

Make sure you have adequate defragmented space on the drive that is
being used for spooling.

ALso, you didn't mention how the printer is connected. I'm assuming it
is USB. Sometimes USB conflicts can develop and cause loss of
connection. Make sure the printer is connected directly to the computer
or through a powered USB splatter.
