EPSON Perfection V30 Scanner Problems

Pentium IV running Windows 32 bit. Scan to PDF button produces an
error message : "This Scanner driver can not create PDF file. Use
EPSON Scan Ver.2.7 or greater." The Scanner driver/utility is Ver.3.5.
Scan to E-mail button produces only a brief pause and nothing more.
All other scanner functions working OK. Any help greatly appreciated &
