Epson C88 : clogs on low duty use?

N

Number One

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a new inkjet to replace my aging Lexmark 5700.

My printing needs at home are very low, I can be 2 to 4 weeks without
printing anything...

I read before that Epson printers tend to clog a lot when not used on a
regular basis.

That was a while ago, is this still true, in particular for the C88?

Any recommendations for "non-clogging" inkjet printers?

Thanks.

PS: I'm also considering a B&W laser, at least that wouldn't clog! :)

yeah youre right, if you buy a cheap epson then using it like that will clog
the heads.

if you want somthing cheap, as i guess you are as youre talking about a C88,
then a HP inkjet would be better
however HP build quality/software aint what it used to be.

If youre looking for a laser, best to pay a bit more and buy an Epson C1100

Thats not true at all. HP software is crap now and was crap before.

I have an Epson R300 and use it about once every two weeks for a few pages,
and have NO clogging problems. If they do clog, you can easily clear the
nozzles or waste ink tube with the cleaning information avaialble from
various places including
http://www.TheServiceManualShop.com
though you do have to ask for the cleaning info as it's not listed on the
site
