Epson 3000s invade Ebay.

I bought an Epson 3000 through Ebay (Aus) a month ago.
I was only bidding against 1 other- paid $150.00.
Another I was watching sold 5 days later for $900.00
Not bad- I thought- might put mine back up.
Within 4 days 4 have been listed- all hoping to match the $900.00.
One has a BuyItNow of $899.00 (mmm- maybe).
Another opened at $590.00 and has the 1 bid (they'll wish they'd
waited/shopped)
Contestant 3 is up to $529.00 with 26 bids so far.
Contestant 4 is stalled in the stall at $100.00 with no bids. (hello the
$590.00 bidder- look at this one)

Meanwhile over in France a seller has 10 available at a starting bid of
$1.59- 3 bidders have stuck up their hands for 1 each.
Now- who would be the more pissed off?
The bloke with the $900.00 one or the bloke watching the days tick down till
he forks over $590.00?

Or me wishing I was in France and could pick up the other 7 for $1.59 each?

The unfortunate problem with the Epson SC3000 is its size and weight.
Shipping costs and finding a box can double or more the cost of
purchasing it. Also, as tough as the units are, I have seen very abused
models, and some misused or mis-shipped (with ink cartridges installed,
making them useless after the ink spills everywhere. Also, if the ink
pads are pretty full, and the printer is shipped at any time upended,
again, a real mess. I don't believe the US postal service will even
accept one. Has to go truck, bus or UPS. Nice printer once it gets
going. Since no ink monitoring chips, you can use wherever ink type you
wish. Heads are identical to the SC800 printer.

If anyone requires a small document regarding the proper method of
preparing an SC3000 prior to shipment, email me and I will send you a
copy. It can save a lot of pain.
