Hi.
My pc made a two tone noise when booting. hence it wouldnt boot. I was told
i need a new PSU which i got. It now turns on with no noise but i get nothing
on the screen. (no signal) I believe i have to clear the bios/cmos. Does
anyone know how to do it on this mo/bo.
Or if there is another problem causing this.
XP home 256 ram EP-4BDAE mo/bo

Thank you
Phill

i dont know your motherboard or bios but to reset cmos you usually need to
unplug power cable
remove cmos battery
short the link (usually near the battery) which clears cmos

but your problem sounds more like a memory issue to me
if you have 2 memory cards try removing one at a time and restarting

Check the manual for the motherboard or look it up online to see what the
two-toned beep code means. They're different for different manufacturers.
Then you'll know what your original problem, and it wasn't the power supply.

As far as it not booting now, once again, you're getting bad advice. You
shouldn't have to clear the cmos after installing a power supply.

Make sure everything is connected properly, and check to make sure
everything is still nice and snug. It's easy to bump something loose while
you're working on something else.

Hi. Thanks for that But I do not have the manual for the mo/bo and the makers
of the mo/bo dont have it either.

In that case, if you know who the manufacturer of the bios is, you can go to
their website and look up beep codes.
