Envelope icon in system tray

I'm really sorry to bug everybody with this MINOR issue
but a lady in my company is apparently not getting the
little yellow envelope in the system tray when new mail
arrives. Is there any way to get the mail icon back?
Again sorry to waste your time.

Is she running Windows XP? If so, she may have disabled that icon in the
system tray. Right click the system tray and click properties. Then click
the customize button next to "Hide inactive icons." See if the new mail
notification is set to always hide.
