Hello,

I am about to split my database for two users on a shared
folder on the network.I would like to confirm that once i
split it and link the front end from the users desktop to
the backend on the shared folder, both users can key in
information at the same time.Is this correct??
Thanks

No problem. You can up to 255 concurrent users connecting.
Access does row locking and not file locking like Excel.
However, if it is a shared drive the users need to enough
permissions to be able to create and delete the
temporary .ldb file in that directory or Access will think
it is being opened exclusively. This means that they will
need Change permissions to create and delete files.

Thanks,

This database is simple in design (data entry to record
transactions of credits performed) and the users really
wont be playing beyond the switchboard that will be set
up.It is for this reason, i am wondering if i should even
place security at all.Any thoughts on this???
Thanks for your help////
