entering numbers in cell, ##### appears, how do i get rid of this

I am completeing a spreadsheet and have several cells in the same collumn
which show ###### in the window after entering the number. I don't know what
I am doing for this to happen and want to know how I can correct it...waiting
patiently for help.

I have formatted a collumn for two. decimal pnts and currency...I enter the
number and sometimes in the same collumn that sign will appear...if you put
your cursor over the cell the drop down window shows the number enetered
however it isn't appearing in the cell..its like it is cloaked behind
#####...can you help

If you click on the cell and the real number appears in the formula bar, then
this is just a formatting problem. There are several things to try:

First select the column and

Format > Column > Width > 50
Does this fix the problem?

If not then select the cell and format to general. Your currency format may
not allow enough characters. Let us know what happens.
