Entering New Contact Info

I have Outlook 2002 and have all my addresses entered correctly in the
Contact list. Recently when I try to enter a new contact, the names are
being reversed (first and last) and when I enter the name correctly as first
and last it pops up on the contact form reversed. If I change it down below
in the List As line it again reverses itself and is showing my first name as
the last name on the full contact list. It all worked fine until recently.
Any idea as to the problem?

Examine the setting you specified for the Full Name and File As fields.

I guess I can state my problem a bit more clearly. If I select to input a
new contact, the window opens with "Untitled - Contact". On the first tab
"General", I click on Full Name which opens a drop down box with Title, First
name, middle name and last name. When I type the first name and the last
name and then OK, the box closes and the name appears on the Full Name line,
but in the reverse order. Is there any setting that would effect this? If I
just reverse the names it then messes up the file as line.

I already told you the setting.
Look at Tools > Options > Preferences > Contact Options...
