I'm using MS Office 2003 and Windows XP 2002. I was able to increase the
font size for files, etc. but would like to increase the font size of my
outgoing and incoming email messages.

Go to Tools, then Options and the Mail Format tab and click on Stationary and
Fonts.

I'm having a similar problem, and have done as you've suggested. I've changed
every font but the following: when I OPEN an email sent to me, the fonts are
still small. I know I can go to "view" "text size" on each
opened email, but I'd like to have a larger font set by default.

What am I missing?

I'm using XP home and Outlook 2003.
I don't know what zoom you're referring to or how to find it.
If you're talking about view - text size - Outlook defaults to medium each
time I open an email.

If there is a zoom that defaults to a larger size, I'd appreciate knowing
where it is.
