endless loop of terror

I was reinstalling windows due to a virus and the
reinstall failed. My only hope is to install a new, fresh
copy of windows (and loose all my files). BUT it keeps
trying to finish reinstalling windows. How do I stop this
endless loop of terror.

I know of the "bios" screen but that doesn'tseem to help.
Can't I get into windows likenormal ? Or how do I blank
out my hard drive and start over ??????

you need a 98 startup disk put it in and make sure it
loads the floppy first when it loads it will give you a
chioce of startup windows with CD-ROM support OR WITHOUT,
choose without then when that loads it will say a:\> then
type format then the drive you want to clear (e.g. format
c when that is done your drive is now clear to install
windows again

This will work but you WILL loose all existing files on
the computer.
