Encrypted Files

Got a question I could use some help with, if I'm not beyond help

I encrypted some files on my hard drive, and then copied them to another hard drive as "backup"

I exported out a .pfx file of the security certificate and security key, but I managed to encrypt them

I can't seem to find a way to import that .pfx certificate and key into the certificates so that I can unencrypt the files I had previously unencrypted

Am I doomed or is there hope? I know the password I used when I created the encryption key, if that's useful

Thanks
Dave

Oh yeah, the thing I forgot to mention is that I
reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled windows after
encrypting the original key.

Sort of a catch-22 on the encrypted .pfx
What happened to the original system ? Or is it that you removed the key
when you exported the .pfx ?
