One of our users accidentaly disabled the cd/dvd rom drive
on their workstation. How do I enable it if I can't see it
in the hardware devices unser My Computer's properties. I
don't see it anywhere on the system?

When a device is disabled in Windows via the Device Manager it shows up
with a Red X in Device manager. I suspect your hardware device is more
than disabled in software. I suspect that it may not be connected properly
or has encountered an error.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

1. In Device Manager, choose View - Show Hidden Devices.

2. If the device still does not show up, Run the Control Panel Add Hardware
wizard.

3. Have the Hardware Wizard search for devices connected but not
"installed"

4. If none of these things resolves the issue, do you have a 3rd party
driver for the device?

5. Run MSInfo32 and Check under Components / Problem Devices for more
information.
