enabling a file for use offline

I'm trying to make a shared folder available offline. When I right-click on
the file or folder I want to share there is no "Make Available Offline"
option. Why is this and how can I fix it/is there another way to make the
files available offline? I have Windows XP Pro

See my reply to your identical post in m.p.windowsxp.network_web. In the
future, please don't multipost - if you need to post to multiple groups,
it's best to crosspost instead, by posting a single message to a handful of
relevant groups (separate the NG names with commas) so that everyone can
