enable write combining....what is it??

Dan

Can anyone tell me what this check box actually does??

I have an older P3 that I am trying to load XP on and the
graphics are jumbled if "enable write combining" is
checked in the display control panel area. If I turn it
off, everything seems fine.

Any isuues if it is left off??

Thanks

Hi Dan,

Where in the display properties are you seeing this option - this is not a
normal option. It may have been supplied by your display driver. What video
card and driver version are you using?

No - it is an advanced option in some graphics cards and their drivers
for better efficiency - if it works on the card. If it gives trouble,
have it off
