Enable password caching

[Hi]

I need the ability to save passwords while connecting to
internet sites that
require user credentials. The windows pop
up has a check box to enable this
but does not save the password.
How can I make this work?

Many financial institutions do not allow the password to be saved. Most
Passport sites do not allow the password to be saved.
