Emptying deleted box

I have new Vista and cannot empty deleted folder in Windows Mail.
Have tried using the X to delete individual emails but no luck.
Downloaded what was supposed to be a fix but nothing has changed.
Come on Microsoft you must fix this soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Downloaded what fix? Have you tried both the 32-bit and the 64-bit
version of this fix, downloaded and installed with Windows Mail not
running?

Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders. Certain common antivirus programs , such as most of
those from Norton or McAfee, or a recent one from Trend, tend to
cause such problems, although seldom immediately, so if you have
such a problem, remember where to find the fix - you are likely to
need it again.

If this isn't enough. what if any antivirus programs do you have?
