Empty Junk E-mail Folder stopped working today

I've had MS Office 2007 on my Windows XP machine for about a month. Today,
Outlook's "Empty 'Junk E-mail' Folder" stopped working. Up until today, it
would completely expunge my Junk E-mail folder. Today, it does nothing at
all. I have run Office Diagnostics with no improvement. Any ideas?

did you reboot?

Stunningly enough, I thought of that shortly after I posted. I thought to
myself, "self, what's the first thing a tech rep would suggest?" I rebooted.
It worked. Thanks for the reply. Now. Any idea *why* that worked?

<g> No, no idea why it stopped working, but I've seen a lot of things break
and a reboot fix, so I'm thinking it’s because of a windows update that
doesn't require a reboot. I know there was a recent junk mail filter
update - it's possible that caused a hang in the functionally.
