Emial received day and year wrong

B

Brian Smith

I am using Outlook 2002 (10.4712.4219) SP-2.

The received day and year are incorrect on my emails
since Monday, Dec 29 2003. The month and day are correct
for the received date, but the year is marked as 2004 and
the day is now mark 2 days ahead. Thus emails received
on Monday, Dec 29 2003 are marked as Wednesday, Dec 29
2004.

The sent dates are correct.
The outlook calender has the correct day marked for today.

Any idea on what is wrong? Thanks.

I presume that you have a POP3 or IMAP4 account, rather than an Exchange
account. In these accounts, the received date is *not* the date on which
Outlook downloads the message, but the date that the email server (from
which you download) received the message. Outlook gets the date from a
field that the server adds to the message. My guess is that someone
misconfigured your email server - contact your mail provider with this
issue.

While I can't offer a solution, I can confirm the problem. I to have a number of Emails between 12/29 and the end of the year that have 2004 listed as the year, rather than 2003.

I have the same version of Outlook. On my machine, the problem happened only on 1 of 2 users!

BTW, since the year is wrong, the day matches the 2004 calander.

Is there any way to edit the .pst file to fix the date on these Emails?

Presuming that I don't care how the error occurred, is there any way to edit this date so that the received sort returns to normal?

BTW my Email server is Erols, which is an aliased version of Starpower and RCN!
