Embedding sounds

I am able to embed a midi quite well but I was wondering if
there is a way to embed short sound affects or short vocals.
For instance, I would very much like to do a HOVER over a
picture of Fred Flintstone and have a quick YABBA DABBA DOO
play without having the users media player having to load.

Would it be feasable, or desired to perhaps force a silent
wave when the page comes up so the player opens in another
window (or tab) and then whenever a sound is played it
deosent have to load the player and take the mood away.

You can add the mouseover event to the img tag if you don't want to use the
