Embedding fonts

We've recently changed all of our corporate materials to a new font - one
that is not commonly available, thinking that the 'embed fonts' functionality
would allow us to send PPT files to clients and have them display properly.

We've embedded all the fonts, yet they do not appear properly on computers
without that font intstalled... usually defaulting to Arial or something
similar.

Is there any way that this problem can be resolved?
