embedding a music clip

I have been looking thru the past discussions trying to see how I can embed a
media clip intO a PPT slide. I have a WMA file which is about 556K and want
to embed this clip so it does not pull from a file on my PC, but is already
in there. I have tried to insert it as an object, but it comes up as windows
media icon and has to open that program. I just want it to embedded, come up
as a microphone icon that automatically starts when the slide is open, just
liek any other little sound clip does when you insert into ppt. please advise

Only wav files will embed (I think!)

Can you convert the WMA file

To embed wax files change the setting for "link sounds with file size great
than" (in tools / options) to a larger number than the file size.

I usually recommend GoldWave as a free/shareware audio editor. It will
handle the conversion process just fine and is fairly intuitive to use.
Check for it at: www.goldwave.com
