Embedded Objects in Word

I upgraded Coreldraw from Version 10 to X3. My previously created drawings
that are embedded Coreldraw objects in Word files are not recognized any more
(but show up as unknown objects and cannot be edited). Please note that
copying and pasting from Word into Coreldraw will not work since the object
is not recognized as a Coreldraw object.

FWIW, this sounds more like a problem with X3 than with Word. In order to work
with "objects" in a Word document, the application from which they come must be
correctly registered in *Windows* as a COM-Server. If X3 isn't recognizing the
old objects, then it was either designed not to do so, or is incorrectly
registered under Windows. You should check with Corel support group about this.

You may have to install version 10 on some machine or other, copy the objects
into that, then save them as separate files so that X3 can import/convert them.

I discovered the problem. I installed Coreldraw 10 after I had installed
Office 2002. Then I installed Coreldraw X3. Later I upgraded to Office 2003.
Looks like at this time something went wrong and all links to embedded
Coreldraw 10 objects got lost. I uninstalled and then reinstalled Coreldraw
X3 and everything seems to be workling fine now.
