Would the "file not found" type of message be something like this:
The server application, source file, or item can't be found (when editing
MSGraph, Excel Charts, Org Charts)
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00236.htm
If so, then there are lots of things listed to check.
I don't know much about NAV, but I wonder if that officeav.dll file is still
around, even though you're using Corporate Edition and the plug-in is turned
off. As that first link mentioned,
Some NAV versions (CE for example) don't include the Office Plug-In, but a
previously installed version of Norton AV may have left the Office Plug-In
DLL installed, registered and active.
Use Windows Explorer to search for: officeav.dll
If you find it, click Start, click Run and type this:
regsvr32 /u "\officeav.dll"
then click OK
That's worth a shot, anyway.

We do run NAV, but it is the Corp Edition. The users do not have access to
the plug in as part of the policy, it (the plug-in) turned off at the server.
The user says it is still crashing and there is no "file not found" type of a
message as indicated in the KB article.
Anything else? Possible too low of RAM? I'm inclined toward that if nothing
else presents. OLE in Office has a history.
Thanks,
E.

Are you running Norton AntiVirus? If so, remove the Office Plug-In.

A user's computer crashes or completely locks while working on PowerPoint
presentation with embedded Excel sheets and graphs. The user edits the
graph
data and attempts to return to PPT, but the system locks or otherwise
requires reboot, but i could not reproduce the problem. Any known issues?
Office 2003, SP1
Thanks,
E.
