embedded audio files

This is driving me nuts and I hope that someone can help me. I created a
PowerPoint presentation and I embedded an audio file in the first slide of my
presentation. I have set it up so that the sound file automatically plays
once the first slide starts.

It works fine on my computer. But when I send it to others who are not
novices with PowerPoint the sound file doesn't start. At first I questioned
my friends capabilities but they are familiar with PowerPoint and how it
works and both said there is something wrong on my end. I have checked it
over several times, I sent the file to myself using several different mail
servers and I was able to hear the file each time.

One of my associates mentioned he has run across this problem before but he
doesn't have any idea as to how to fix it.

Does anyone have any advice on how to rectify this problem? I am using
Office 2000 on a Windows XP machine.

Well, It is because the music is linked to your PowerPoint
presentation, when you play the presentation to other place such as
other computer, the linked music will not be shown.

You can do as follows:
1. Put the presentation and all the music and other inserted files to
a same folder.
2. Reinsert these files to PowerPoint presentation. After you do this
work, send the folder to other computer or your friends. Then the
music can be shown.

Alternatively, you could try to convert your presentation to Flash and
send the Flash file to other computer. The music will be embedded in
Flash presentation,. And then you could show the Flash on other
computer.

Some third party presentation tool such as PPT2Flash Standard
http://www.sameshow.com/powerpoint-to-flash.html
can help you do this work. You can convert it with one click. Of
course, all the original effect can be retained in Flash.

Free trial from:
http://www.sameshow.com/download/ppt2flash-download.html

Also, you can send the Flash to Web or to your friend and share your
presentation on web with others.

Regards
