Embed Zip file into Word 2007

I am trying to embed a zip file into word 2007 and go to Insert on the
Ribbon, choose Object, from file, etc and constantly get a perpetual
hourglass (it hangs). I seem to be able to embed other objects - word, excel
pdf, etc.
