Emails will not delete

I use Outlook Express. It works perfectly until I open
Internet Explorer and then I can't delete emails until I
close Internet Explorer and reboot. Let me know if there
is a setting I have missed. I have been using this same
system and software for years and it just started doing
this. Thanks for any help.
