Have Win XP SP2 pc and Norton Internet Security Professional 2004. Just
upgraded to Office SBE 2003. I like to opt not to send mail immediately so
it goes to the Outbox first. However, messages do not appear Outbox in
italic format (ready to send). Even when I open them in the Outbox and click
'send' they do not change to italic format. Thus I can't send them.

I had a similar problem latterly with Outlook 2000 though when I opened
messages and clicked 'send' they would change to italic format and I could
send them.

I have no problems of this nature when using Outlook Express.

Any assistance will be appreciated

You cannot put emails into the Outbox manually. If you don't want to send
immediately or at the next mail check, press Save instead & keep them in the
Drafts folder instead. When you press Send in the email, it goes to the
Outbox and will be sent at the next scheduled time. If you put into the
Outbox, you must press Send in the email itself--not the Send-receive
button--to send it.

Mary,

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough.
1) I do not put my emails into the Outbox manually. They go there
automatically if I elect to uncheck the 'Send immediately when connected'
tickbox. I use this method so that I can have second thoughts about sending
prepared emails and also to have control as to when I want to actually send
them (which I always had with Outlook 2000) rather than them going at the
'next schedule send/receive' (which I also left unticked.
2) I do not click Send/Receive from the Outbox. Rather, I open the message
within the Outbox and within that message, I click 'Send', but it still
doesn't convert to the italic 'ready to send' format in the Outbox (which it
used to do in Outlook 2000).

May be I am missing something.

Further thoughts will be appreciated.

Pedro
