Have new PC with Vista (home edition) and Windows mail. Took opportunity to
go WiFi. New setup replaces old PC..and wires.

Now emails with pictures incorporated or attached (or an attached text
document) either never go ... or don't go for hours.

Error message is:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'What is life if full of care ...', Account:
'pop.ntlworld.com', Server: 'smtp.ntlworld.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

but Virgin (ISP) state all well. Have turned of Kaspesky protection to no
avail.

Believe I have remnants of Windows defender on PC ..although I think
Kaspersky renders that redundant.

Most infuriating problem ..... can anybody help please?

Thank you.

"Unexpectedly terminated" is usually caused by interference from an
antivirus program. As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus
should be turned off, although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all
bad effects. In your case, I suggest doing a trial uninstall of Kaspersky,
reboot, then try Windows Mail again. Also, most new computers come
with a free trial of Norton or McAfee antivirus. Was that the case here?
