Emails created offline appear in Outbox but never in Sent Items fo

I created and sent 6 or 7 emails while on the airplane today and all showed
up in my Outbox folder when I clicked the Send button. When I was able to
connect to the internet and VPN into my home network, all of them disappeared
from the Outbox but none appeared in my Sent items folder. This has happened
several times before. When I check with the intended recipients, some or all
of them appear to have received the messages. However, I have no record in my
mail box of these items being sent. This only happens with emails created and
sent offline and, I think, only when the actual sending happens through a VPN
connection to my office server.

Any suggestions?

Did you synchronise with the Server after sending?
