Emails can be received but not sent from Outlook

Hello;

I have searched the threads and haven't found anything yet to help me.
This is a little difficult to explain.

I am using Outlook on Win2000. I have no problems receiving emails,
other than the fact that I receive infected emails a couple times per
day.

When I try to send an email to someone, it is returned to me as
undeliverable. I get the Message Undeliverable message sent to me as
soon as it leaves the outbox. I know the email addresses are fine, and
I know that my mail servers are set up correctly. It has worked
perfectly fine up until a few days ago.

I have downloaded stinger.exe from McAfee and the Klez fix from
Symantic, I haven't been able to run them on my home computer yet
though. It does seem like a virus I picked up somehow, even though I
run Norton and AVG email virus scanners real time.

Any help would be great!

It might seem like a dumb question, as I was having the
same or very similar problem myself, up until last week,
but the reason I could not send any e-mails or reply to
any was because after clicking on the send button within
the message box -which then disappears - I then had to
click on send/receive button. It took me ages to realise
that not clicking on this button, was the root of the
problem, as I am a complete novice where these things are
concerned.

If you ARE clicking on this button, then please excuse my
lack of knowledge about further suggestions.

I am using Outlook 2002/Express v6 on a Win'XP Home Ed'
laptop, so I dont know if that makes any difference. I
also connect via AOL v8.0 which can cause loads of
problems - so people keep telling me - if not set up
properly.

By the way, does Win' 2000 have a firewall?
Who is your ISP? If it is AOL then your operating system
firewall will have to be disabled as it will conflict
with AOL's. The same may be the case with whoever your
ISP is.

If you use Norton Internet Security (the 2004 version
includes free anti-virus, personal firewall, etc updates
for 12 months from purchase date and it only costs about
£50), the Norton Personal Firewall may have to be
configured to not conflict with whatever firewall is used
by your ISP.

I hope some of this info is of help, and good luck.

What version of Outlook are you using? What is the exact text of the
non-deliverable message that you get?
