emails being received over and over --

I am receiving emails over and over again. 1664 emails alone yesterday and
often I am getting the same email at least ten times. I am using microsoft
exchange and would like to know how to fix this issue.

The messages are being received by your Exchange server multiple times, or
is Outlook copying multipe copies to your mailbox?

Let's start from scratch.

What version of Outlook?
What version of Exchange?
How is the mail message getting to Exchange? Is it being delivered to the
Exchange server via SMTP? Is it being sent by an internal user? Is it a
message Outlook is downloading from an external POP server?
How is Outlook configured to connect to Exchange? MAPI/RPC? POP? IMAP?
