Emails automatically deleting not going into deleted items

When i delete an email from my spam or inbox it deletes itself completely and
it does not show in the deleted items folder. As this is for work i loose an
email completely if i have deleted it by mistake. I really need to sort this
problem out, it has never done this before so cant understand why it has
started now. Please help.
 
Are you holding down the Shift key when deleteing?
 
No, i am just deleting the emails as normal havin the email required emailing
deleted and then press delete on the keyboard. it never used to do this it is
as though a setting has been changed.
