Can you email to a specific categories nominated in
contacts without creating a distribution list. Eg. If you
have 200 contacts in total and 100 are
nominated "supplier" in the category field can you do a
group email without creating a distribution list.

Yes, sort your contacts folder by category, then drag the category you want
to send mail to your in-box.

How can I see my "In" box when I am in the Contacts area of Business Contacts Manager in my task pane? All I see is my "Mail" icon in the task pane; no separate "IN" box
Thanks
Jim
PS: When I try using "View by Category" and then highlighting the desired Category header, then selecting "Actions", almost all of the actions are greyed out (including "New Message to Contact"). That is my basic problem. Can you help with that? I was hoping your method of dragging the Category Header to my In box would be a workaround. So if you can tip me off on either method, I'll be OK. Thx

try dropping it on the mail icon at the bottom of the task pane. Is new
message to contacts also grayed out on the right click menu?

I try to drag and drop the Category header to the Mail icon at the bottom of the task pane, but nothing happens.
I don't know what Right Click menu you are referring to. "New Message to Business Contact" is greyed out when I left-click the Actions menu at the top of the screen, along with all other Actions except New Business Contact, Call Contact, and Forward as vCard (Remember: I am in Business Contact Manager, not "regular" Outlook. I went hunting in the on-line Microsoft documentation for BCM, and the only way they say to make a mass mailing is to build a distribution list. They don't talk about doing it "on the fly" by simply highlighting the Category header after sorting by Category. If BCM really cant do this, its a major drawback, compared to "regular" Outlook contacts.
Thanks for whatever light you can shed on this. Either (a) I am doing something wrong, or (b) Microsoft eliminated a very useful feature from outlook when creating BCM.
