make a distribution list from a named category(in contact list)

I've created a category name from certain contacts...can I use that category
name to directly create a distribution list? What happens now is when I'm
adding to the dist. list, the contact list shows up, but the category "field"
doesn't show up in the list, so its hard to remember which contact is in
which category. Thanks -David

If you are using categories, why be redundant and use a DL? Drag the
category to your inbox and your distribution is set.

Thanks Milly, when I do that they all show up to "To"...is there a way to Bcc
all but one "To" address? Thank you. -David

None that I know of except the always reliable cut and paste.

Don't have to cut and paste - highlight the ones you want in BCC and drag
them there from To field. Tends to be easier to highlight if you start from
the last one and wipe upwards.

But that's the problem. New Message to Contact only places recipients in the
To: field.

Yep - and when they then appear there in the To... field, you highlight them
all and drag them to the BCC field. Trust me - it works, maybe I just
didn't explain it too clearly.

Right. It was the syntax that threw me. "Highlight the ones you want in the
BCC field" suggested they were already there. "Highlight the ones you want
to move to the BCC field" was what you actually were saying.

I find answering questions here to be a very good skills development
exercise. It improves my ability to explain things in the training room -
for the exact reason we just found on this question!
